Anjali

This girl is going to be a world-changer! Early in Anjali's life, her grandmother would force her into the streets and temples to beg. She returned each afternoon to give her grandmother what little money she had collected. Dirty and ragged Anjali and her younger sister, Shilpa, were brought to Grace House India, receiving the love and care they desperately needed. Anjali soon realized she had found a place to call home, a community of people who provided her with safety, security, and, most importantly, unconditional love.

With that love and security, Anjali found the courage to stand up for herself. When, at the age of 14, Anjali's mother showed up with a husband for Anjali with the intention of taking Anjali to her new husband in Mumbai to beg. Anjali showed tremendous courage and staunchly refused.

On another visit to her grandmother's home, the grandmother insisted Anjali go back into the streets and temples to beg. She refused, telling her grandmother it would never happen again. She knows her future lies in Jesus and in Jesus alone.

Anjali found her true calling in school. She loves learning and wants to be an advocate for those living in poverty and without resources. Anjali will ensure that the next generation of children has

She has experienced tremendous growth in her mental and emotional health, as well as academically, where she excels and dreams of one day becoming a doctor.
