Tanvi

"Tanvi the Teacher," as we love to call her, is a bright and ambitious young girl who loves to learn. She dreams of becoming a teacher one day and is determined to make them come true.

Despite facing tremendous odds due to her impoverished background, Tanvi has never given up on her dream of educating others. She believes that education is the key to making positive change in her community, and she wants nothing more than to help people through teaching.

Her mother, beset by tragedy when Tanvi was a toddler, did everything she could for her daughters despite their poverty. To give them a chance at an education, she made the difficult decision of sending Tanvi away from home to live with her grandmother, where she could receive schooling.

But despite the distance, Tanvi's mother found a way to ensure that her daughter would not be alone in this new situation--she sent Tanvi's younger sister, Achal, along with her.

At Grace House India, these two sisters have received an education and gained the necessary skills to thrive in society. Most importantly, though, they have each other. They experienced life-changing opportunities together as they explored their faith and grew closer to Christ. It is inspiring to see how the power of family and love has pushed them through even their most difficult challenges! Through God's grace and a lot of hard work from both girls, we are confident that Tanvi will reach her goal of becoming an educator.
